Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SlayBay (“SlayBay,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the SlayBay mobile app and our website at slaybayapp.com (together, the “Services”).

Questions? Email jove@slaybayapp.com.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use SlayBay, we may collect the following:

Account and profile

  • Name, email address, and password (or sign-in via Google)
  • Profile details such as bio, role (client or artist), avatar, and city
  • Preferences you share during onboarding (style, services, budget, travel methods, and similar settings)
  • Artist profile details such as specialties, pricing ranges, portfolio, and location

Location

  • Approximate or precise location (with your permission) so we can show nearby artists, estimate travel time, and improve matching
  • City or coordinates you enter yourself

Content you create

  • Photos and media you upload (profile photos, portfolio, feed posts, reviews)
  • Posts, comments, likes, saves, follows, reviews, and similar activity
  • Messages you send to other users through the app
  • Reports or feedback you submit about content or accounts

Device and notifications

  • Device push tokens so we can send notifications you choose (for example messages, comments, follows, or marketing, based on your settings)
  • Basic technical information needed to run and secure the app (such as app version)

Website inquiries

  • If you use the contact form on our website, we collect your name, email, and message so we can reply

2. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Provide matching, discovery, messaging, and social features
  • Show relevant artists and content based on preferences, budget, and travel time
  • Store and display photos and profiles you choose to share
  • Send transactional emails and push notifications you enable
  • Respond to inquiries and support requests
  • Protect safety, prevent abuse, and enforce our rules
  • Improve and operate the Services

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How we share information

We may share information in these situations:

  • With other users. Profile details, posts, portfolio images, reviews, and similar content you make public or share in the app are visible to other users as designed by the product. Messages are shared with the people you message.
  • With service providers. We use vendors that help us run SlayBay, such as authentication (Clerk), cloud database and media storage (Supabase), email delivery (Resend), maps/geocoding and travel-time services, and push notification delivery (Expo). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and safeguards.
  • For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe it is necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Services.
  • Business transfers. If SlayBay is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Your choices

  • Profile visibility. In the app, you can control certain visibility settings for posts, albums, saved artists, inspo, and likes.
  • Location. You can deny or later revoke location permission in your device settings. Some matching features may work less well without it.
  • Notifications. You can turn notification categories on or off in the app, and disable push notifications in your device settings.
  • Camera and photos. Access is optional and used only when you choose to take or upload media.
  • Account deletion. You can delete your account in the app. You can also email jove@slaybayapp.com to request deletion or ask questions about your data.

5. Data retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, for safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance).

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s privacy

SlayBay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

8. International users

SlayBay may be operated from the United States. If you use the Services from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where we or our providers operate.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
